Popped into Focus on the way to work to get some rivets as we've run out and cant be arse waiting for an RS order to come through

ask where the rivets are as i walk in to save time looking and i get the two girls lookiing at me

"rivets??"

explaining that they are "fasteners, like screws" i was sent to the right aisle, not able to find them i asked a passing shelf stacker...who was similarly confused!

am i asking too much?

anyway i found them in the end tucked at the end of the aisle at the bottom of the display!

Asking girls for rivets is a big no no, I've heard of girls falling for left handed screw drivers in B&Q local to me...

they should have training on everything they sell though. they are shop assistants afterall. no use to anyone if they can't show you where different items are.

This is what does my head in. I work in a family run tool and hardware store. And every product we sell I have to know what it is and how it works so that when someone asks I don't look like one of the bellends in focus or b & q who dont have a clue..

Definately, I agree they should be trained to know, but the company doesn't give them the training they need, so what can they do?! It doesn't make them a bellend. I dunno what a rivet is!
