Does he want to sell the XSi engine

The ECU needs to be unlocked or you need the ECU, ingition ring, key chip and imobilizer black box

Price dependant (I'd want the whole lot by the way, gearbox, exu, loom, immobilizer bits), i'll take it.

Does the conversion stuff help?

106owners.co.uk I have always found to be quite helpful and friendly - GF has a nice 1.1 106.

Far as im aware the 8v lumps in these are suppose to be tappy?

But aswell think you've got to chop and change the loom aswell (some from xsi some from gti) and the top mount has to be cut slight.

But as pow said there'll be aload of info on the 106owners site

I looked into this when I had the vtr

It's a dash out job, you have to change it to a 3 pin ecu

Not as bad as some folk make out, but bit of a mess of wires tbh

There are 2 types of loom for this engine, 1 has 3 pins 1 is single. I done a conversion last year on a 106 quicksilver and put a VTS engine in it quicky was a single pin loom and the VTS was a 3 pin, fooooking nightmare really. There's a company down south tho that you can send both looms to and they'll convert them to plug and play. Cost's around £180 iirc.

I'm currently doing the conversion on a 106 XSi fitting a Saxo VTS 1.6 16v engine into the engine bay.

You need to keep both the original XSi 1.4 engine loom and the new Saxo VTS engine loom and fuse the 2 together. Its around 25 wires which need to be cut and spliced together. It can be a DIY job if you have the knowledge or its around £100 for someone to do it for you.

The ECU from the VTS will need to be unlocked which is around £80 from blue hawk.

The Top engine mount from the S1 XSi engine will need to be chopped down to allow the 16v cambelt covers to clear it.

Other than loom, ecu, and mount it pretty much drops in. Very easy to do!
