where can i get a cat from will a 2" diamiter and i have a 2" exhaust on my xe corsa but its got a decat and wont go through MOT without one so wanna find one that i can weld in place

An XE won't need a cat. the engines are pre 95 so legally don't have to have one.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

ive been told it done by the oldest eg car 97,engine 90 its done by engine not car

It is done by the age of the block. Even if you have brand new everything else, all that matters is the manufacture year of the block. I know this as fact as I had to prove the age of the block for my xe for SVA as it is the deciding factor on emmisions.

That is the million dollar question. a letter and a £100 cheque to GM will get you what you need. Or the logbook from the donor car.
Other than that you are screwed really.
