got a car at the moment, had a sub fitted a while back, the sub seems to make a quick noise every now and then, but the the cd player isnt on, anyone know why the sub is making this sound when is should be off.

bad earth sisters bf used 2 do that 2 moved the earth and it didnt do it again

at a guess either bad feedback (can be caused by running all the leads along 1 side), bad earth, bad connection somewhere

Bad earth causes that, or interferance on the phono lines - ie running the power alongside it
