defo going a head with a conversion want more power
own a 1.6 16v and its pretty slow
now options
what can i do to this engine to get it to go faster
or
what engine to i convert to?
what would my best and cheapest option be

Sell the engine to fund a 20xe conversion. Or sell your car and buy one that's been done already.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

ste's pretty much summed it up.
1.6 wise could get inlet, headwork, lightened fly, manifold/system, superchip blah blah get about 140-150bhp tops maybe.
or start off with the 20xe and put a set of tbs on and have maybe a gen 190 or so bhp.
the weight differance between the two engines is also negliable to the cars handling too, so go for a 20xe imo.

right don't want to sell the car its in immaculate condition and a good base
has v6 brakes, koni suspension, leather blah blah blah
been looking about and it seem a can get a 20xe for around 1000 rebuilt
and 20let would be a grand just for engine

what does trhat rebuild include?
just if didnt mind palleting the engine, i could see what i could do it for. ive just priced an xe up just for a lad. i could copy the pm i sent him on mig and u2u it, so get idea on prices etc.
