i know a bird trading in her T reg 1.4 sport corsa lowered 40mm on speedlines full magnex,depos.......for a new corsa,she gets 2k for her car does it mean hers is scrapped?such a waste

yep will be scrapped.
you should try buy the parts off her or swap for standard parts and she will still get 2k for it.

Most of those types of cars are now only owned by enthusiasts & these type of folkgenerally know what they like & dont be new cars!!
I cant see much of a threat!!

i agree with that
and new cars will never ever last as long as the old ones, and parts prices are always bumped up so when the warrenty ends its uneconomical to fix and youll have to keep buying new

if people have 10 year old cars its normaly because they cant afford brand new ones so ever old cars not gona be scrapped!

As long as people are scrapping Volvo 940 Estates, 2.3 Turbos with 200k on them I cannot see the problem.
when people start scrapping Corsas and Puntos, perfect first/runabout cars, theres the problem.

i really doubt we'll see much impact to be honest, spread across every make and model older than 10 years and worth less than £2k...
does anyone know if they'll crush them straight away? if not breakers yards could get some interesting cars

If its going in on the scrappage scheme then it MUST be recycled, thats part of the deal! the whole point of the scheme is to get 10+ year old cars off the road so the government can rake in the tax on the newer cars.
