In answer too the original question, i would have done the same for my little sister. Brothers can handle themselves though. Can't be letting guys get away with abusing girls whether its verbal or physical ! Should have done more tbh

He went for you, you defended yourself and yet you're the bad guy?

Sounds like your mother has some apologising of her own to do. You're her son, if i was in your situation i know for a fact my mother would be walking out on him, not me.

Has he apologised for going for you?

What does he say happened? Does he blame you or what?

If he went for you, you're justified in getting a pre-emptive strike in to protect yourself.

In my opinion Id say you've done the right thing , if you had of sit back let him do what he likes then it would of only got worse after the marriage.
Not sure how many times you hit him but I think once would of been enough , must admit love that though blokes thinking there the "daddy" no pun intended and you whoop his arse
You son have got some respect

I think you did the right thing.

What would happen when you get your own place? If you weren't there?

I'd have done the same. I bet he won't do it again.

Surely it was self defense, the event happened in your room as he barged in and attacked you.
