Hi all,

I have a Corsa 1.2 SXi 1.2 16v (2001) which at the moment is standard.

I am looking to fit a k&n induction kit, a stainless steel exhaust and possible look at getting the ECU chipped (if this can be done on a Corsa 1.2 16v) or replaced.

Can anyone advise me on where to look for these parts and also what would the approx performance benefits be? (I understand this will vary on the make/model etc)

Cheers

Tom

unfortunatly trying to tune a 1.2 is like pissing in the wind.. annoying wast of time and just makes you smell.. best advise i can give you is put a back box and a panel filter in it and then go cosmetic.. save up and get a 1.6 plonked in it and then you'll have something to start tuning that will give you good bhp gains for your money.. sorry if this winds you up but its the truth.

^ what he said.

It would be cheaper to buy an already converted car if you want a more powerful one.

Getting power from a 1.2 is a waste of money.

You are best keeping the engine standard. I wouldn't even bother with filters or back boxes. It will just make your car sound shit.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Yea, if you want your car to look good spend more on cosmetics as someone has said. There are some really nice corsa's on this website and not all of them have 2 litre's in them.

They didnt do a 1.6 for the C, so a 1.8 would be better

Even better would be buying one with a 1.8 in it and not waste time and money converting it.

Indeed as a few people have tried and failed with a successful 1.8 conversion in a C for some reason - don't think it's all that straight forward.

Exhaust may be ok to do - I had a GT3 centre section and the 1.8 SRi backbox on my 1.2 and it sounded subtle - not chav or loud. No power gains though

The only thing I found helped slightly in regards to pulling nicely through gears was derestricting the standard airbox, fitting a Pipercross panel filter and fitting a Vectra C diesel intake to the box
