help' ive just bought a corsa and managed to snap the key in the ignition! how can i tell if my key is a transponder key. under the ignition barrel is a black box which is attached to the locking mechsnism but if you open the key up its empty, just a battery for the light! if i got a new key cut could i just tape the key to the box to get the car to start?

The chip is in the black bit of the key, get a new key cut and transfer the chip over.
If its there it looks like a black piece of plastic.
