Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Well i'm not the most techincal person in the world and ever since i've had an ipod i've always had problems with itunes..basically i think it's shit.
The problem i have is that when i got my wife got an 8 gig nano the only way i can put music on it is to match it up with my library because when i tried to delete (un tick) a load of stuff that i have that she don't like it erased it from my ipod when i plugged mine back in.
Her's is maxxed out now and is moaning that her's is full of MY shit and not her's
How do i go about getting it so when i plug mine in the library is full and all ticked but when she plugs her's in the only stuff ticked is her music? If you get me

Well i tried that...
Manually manage music etc but all it did was wipe MY ipod instead of her's when i plugged it in!

The way I got around it was to have separate windows log-ons for myself, mum and my sister because we all have ipods. Now when they use their log-on, it only has their music in iTunes.

In iTunes, plug in your iPod and select it on the left hand side "devices"
On the summary tab.... check "Open iTunes when this iPod is attached"
On the music tab.... check "Sync music" & "Selected playlists"
Then check the playlists you wish to have on your iPod, sync and remove.
Plug in your wife's iPod and do the same, then this way you will both only get the playlists you wish to have.
I have each album as a playlist and have a nano for the car and touch for use elsewhere and sync with different music all the time.

What version of iTunes do you have?
Click "Help" then "about iTunes"

Oh no wait i get ya now....
I think i've found the problem mate...i just have a 'Library' of tunes and the only 'Playlists' i have are the Purchased dongs i've bought from the istore
Do i have to make my whole library a 'Playlist' or somthing? Or in the case of my wifes nano just some of it?

If you create two playlists for now........
His
&
Hers
just ctrl + a all the library then file, new playlist from selection
then sync the playlist to your ipod, her ipod then you can both sort the playlists at your leisure.

Just deleting from the playlist!
If you had created playlists from the start it would have been a 2min job but most folk just have the one ipod and use the full library until their ipod becomes full!
highlight a few, and hit remove from playlist.
Sort your ipod out then let the wife choose her music and organise it into playlists.
Save you doing it

Thats the worst thing about iTunes, you should be able to have 2 libraries or something. Doesn't affect me as I have my own comp and own iPod but I can imagine it being a pain.
