wot cams are the best you can put in a standard x16xe? how much can they be ground to giv best performance and how much bhp will they give?

dont even waste your money. if anything just put a set of gsi cams in. the gains arent worth the money on a stock engine

you sure? thought they were slightly peakier. if same then leave them, sbd rate them good for 7.5k peak.
theres a pdf type fiile or something on the SBD website about the c16xe's and what mods you can do to de-restrict it so to speak

c16xe cams i believe are slightly different but not worth the hastle of changing them

I'm pretty sure they're not.
The only difference between the X16 & the C16 heads are the ports.

either way then if the cams are the same, dont waste your money on such a mild cam, either save up and go 20xe or if want to keep the small block, spend some proper money on making it quicker, that you will worthy gains, not just 2 or 3bhp tops

hay listen to this, been on to a friend who has worked in vauxhall stores for 15 years and he said x1.4xe, x1.6xe and c1.6xe heads and cams are all the same part number !.

might be same number, but the c16xe head is def not the same as the x14/16 heads
