HI ERY1 SMOOTHING MY BOOT AND AM WIRING MY ORIGINAL SOLENOID FROM THE CENTRAL LOCKING TO MAKE AN ELECTRC BOOT RELEASE. I HAVE DONE IT AL SO IT WILL WORK JUS NEDD TO WIRE IT UP TO A PUSH BUTTO SWITCH. JUS WONDERING OW I WIRE IT CAN ANY1 HELP AND TELL ME HOW TO DO IT!!!

easy find a constand live and run a wire from that to ya solenoid wire, but have a 10amp fuse inline and the switch too that way u can use boot switch without ignition on can u post pics of ur boot popper as im havin trouble where to mount mine cheers

I cheated and used the rear wiper wiring to power my boot popper. Saves running lots of wires.

just earth the solonoid to the boot,
run one power wire from the dash to a dash mounted push button and from there to the solonoid,
easy peezey

How's it not a good idea? What can go wrong? I think you misunderstand me, I used the wiper wiring not the stalk. My stalk is out of a Cav saloon so it doesn't push back anymore. The wiper wire is cut off the multi plug and wired to a switch.
Like so.
The solenoid runs both ways so if you power it the opposite way my solenoid pushes instead of pulls.
Mine is earthed to the earth point in the boot and the power comes from the wiper motor wiring. It's not need anymore, It saves running extra wires that aren't needed.
I've had no porblems whatsoever with mine.
The only downside is the wiper wire is run via a timed relay, So the power is 4-5 seconds delayed after the first time you use it. No big issue but I am going to bypass the relay when i get time.
