basically rev it over 2k you will start to here a clattering noise, like piston slap you cant really tell where its come from on the engine, drives fine still, still pulls, took the rocker off check the top of the valve springs and everything is seated correctly. any ideas its on a 2litre 8v

dont drive it around like that, just change the bottom end bearings, otherwise you'll need a new engine if the bearings go

could also be pre-ignition? what setup do you have?

just 2 litre 8v bottom end using red top pistons, everything else is standard headwork. it ran fine since easter weekend till saturday night never let run low on oil, always checked weekly coolant level is fine
