As above really - I don't Have one, but keep seeing them about and stuff - Do i need one?

Are they a bolt on thing to the XE Engine?

Do I have to do anything to the engine not to use one?

Do I need to do anything to the engine to use one?

The pipework bolts on next to the oil filter, have a look...

Perhaps someone who knows more can clarify, I'm new to this XE stuff.

You don't really need one TBH.

If you want one, you need the oil cooler sanwhich plate where the to banjo pipes bolt on.

If you fit one, you need to bend the pipes slightly to get them to fit in a corsa.

Yes if you're going to be thrashing it for long periods.

No if you drive like a bitch

I've got an oil cooler and really notice the difference on the oil temp gauge.
They don't do anything when in traffic but when driving at speed when you have plenty of air flow it can reduce the temp by 20-40 F.

As said above the pipes do have to be bent slightly to avoid the tie bar. You can either cable tie the cooler secure or make a bracket up like I did.
