Jamsport/Courtney Motorsport/Regal autosport.

I'd favour Jamsport.

Go to a local rally and speak to people with xe's in their rally cars. They are the people to speak to about tuning these engines. Not, as Nic says, the bolt on gypsies like Regal and Courtney. I had mine mapped at a local garage who are true motorsport enthusiasts. The bloke was more interested in getting it running right than taking my money. That showed with the £80 bill! The ones with the blingy rolling roads and clearly with all the gear on finance will charge upwards of £300. The one swho know what they are doing and have pride in their work charge a real price.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

yep, mine is mapped by some small place. excellent work for the money. will explain anything to you. im of the opinion that if the floor is clean etc, then theyve never done any real work on engines. if its a bit oily with tools all over the place, game on.

Nic and Ste, are you telling me you've had your cars mapped and not paid a fortune

Some people on here would lead you to believe that 'you get what you pay for' and if you don't pay over the odds you'll get a crap map, surely they must be telling the truth.

To have the carbs balanced, fuel pressure set, tps calibrated, needles and chokes set, then rolling road setup with a 3D map for £80.

If you are paying upwards of £250 then the place is heavily in debt with equipment they can't afford and therefore probably can't use to the full potential. Probably by some 20 year old kid with a degree in mopping the floor and no experience.

Ste, i disagree, we charge £100/hour for rolling road work, our rolling road is ours and isnt on finance etc.

a rolling road setup is £120+vat

sarcasm i hope john?

most people seem to believe the only good mapping that can ever be done is by some company that everyone has heard of. ie the mentioning of courtenay and regal.

i got what i paid for, like ste did. and like ste im more than happy with what i got for the price i paid.
