Clearly there is a regional markup.. Its like DVD's they are only really regionalised so they can charge different amounts for them.

Not really, a manufacturer who is dropped, for example, by Curry's isnt going to cover all those missed sales through others selling on ebay. What will happen is the customers who may of bought their make in Curry's will just buy another make.

And the mark up is to prevent the sales through other means such as on Ebay rather than official retailers, as again the overheads come in to play compared to some small fry selling from his bedroom on ebay.

Uk gets a higher price for everything, a new game for say the likes of an xbox will be £15 more expensive in the uk that in the US, even taking extra taxes ect into account its still just a bigger markup for the UK, its always been like that though.

As I said above, of course they have different mark ups as they have different costs for the particular countries - I think if you see the actual % profit per item comparison for all countries then ours wont be the highest.

Because they have to protect their UK retailers.

lik-sang would of got their supplies from a country where the import taxes and other overheads are extremely low (im guessing they'll be based in the country of manufacture) - so of course they could of sold the items for a stupid price compared to Sony's UK retailers who have to pay all the extra costs.

no ones debating taxes ect but fact is if everything was the same import costs, taxes, overheads....

We would still be charged a higher price for the same item as they know we will pay.

If and buts, fact is they arent the same, they are extremely higher than most countries.

As I said, I know we pay more than most for a lot of items, but looking at the breakdown of those prices the % profit will be lower than most other countries also.

If you want lower prices then lobby for no minimum wage, for fewer employment laws, for lower employer contributions, for lower corporation taxes, for lower import taxes, for lower business rates, etc.
