right, i want to get into uni, i did 6th form for two years didn't do too well. only did 3 subject which i regret now..
managed to get 180 UCAS points.. course i want to do requires 200 points..
now i am looking at taking a gap year and working for a year, saving up some money to pay for UNI and do another subjet at college at evenings.
who done it? is it usually one night a week in college? what subject did you take?
i have looked through course list in my local college and can't see anything that would be interesting and easy to get good grade.
any info would be great!

Why didn't you do too well at college?
Are you sure uni is the right option - it's a lot of money to waste if you decide it's not right.

I did the 2+2 option availiable, 2 years at college then 2 years at Uni.
Only think I would say is prepare yourself for transition from college to uni, was quite a large step I thought.

first year was really shit because i worked too much ( 20-30 hours a week) and i didnt put much effort into it.. and second year it was too late to catch up but did loads better.
i did maths, physics and IT.. so not the easiests subjects aswell.

just wait till your 21 then do an access course, or wait till clearing and ring the uni chances are they will take you, the course i did at uni was meant to require 2 A's and a B at A level i achieved 4 A's, yet some of my friends got all E's lol.
as sad as it sounds most uni's only care about getting as many people on seats as they can these days and extracting as much money as they can from you.

Yeah BTEC National Diploma which is equiv to 3 A levels and will get you a few hundred UCAS points in two years.
You wouldn't need that much. Perhaps National Certificate or National Award but not as many places run those, and those that do generally start you on the Dip and move you down to the lesser qual if you're not on to pass the Dip.

That's pretty much the wrong attitude as even if it's easy, generally those people who are not interested fail anyway regardless of their reason to be there.
You've got some choices -
Try and go straight there, you're only 20 points down and that isn't a massive gap.
Find something to get you the 20 points, like an A level in the evening while you're getting some related work experience.
Do a proper full course because you actually want to and not just because it looks easy.

An A Level would give you enough points - but I wouldn't go in there thinking it's easy.
