Got a phone call this morning (wakeing me up:mad saying that my girlfriend just passed her test , was shocked tbh lol , she neva told me about this test , was her second test.

Shes insured on her mums car atm (58 plate corsa sxi 1.2)

Going looking for a car for her on sunday. She did like the look of the toyota aygo until she seen inside lol (basic as fook)

Likes the look of a polo and the interior.

Limit being 5.5k (cars ruled out are as follows : aygo , c2 , 206 , 207 107 , c1 , corsa , so tbh much choice lol

What you think??

Mine drives a 307, which I'm quite impressed with.
An older Golf, a Focus, Astra, Mégane etc.

Could get a really nice Yaris for that money.

Don't rule out Mk 6 Fiestas! Probably get a facelift model for that price. They handle really nice, got a great driving position and gear change and feel like a much bigger car!

The Yaris is a brilliant car, rock solid. The Corsa C is a brilliant car as well, really first driver freindly, massive mirrors and huge windows, simple layout and very forgiving to drive.

hmm i wouldn't go spending upto 5.5k on a first car that just got disaster written all over it!
best bet is a mk1 focus you could get a late model for under £3000 and should be dead reliable, easy to drive, nice interior and so on. failing that the old polo's arnt fetching much either and they also are very modern inside and easy t drive etc etc. i wouldn't go french though, there just not as good cars.

mk6 fiesta, decent inside and being a ford, if anything went wrong (accidents), parts will be cheap and loads will be available.

not advisable to spend so much money on a car after passing the test

Probably what will stipulate the purchase is the insurance

Check quotes before you commit to a car to buy

Why? My first car was a 2.0 Astra Sport, touch wood, I've never had a crash to this day in 5 years of driving. My mums also never had a crash in over 15 years of driving (Touch wood again )

Stupid comment to make, not everyones a bad jock.

yes you can get them for as low as 4k for a basic spec one. 1.6 is hardly big engine, they are a heavy car for their size so its ample to move it along at the speed limit. they are good on fuel too and are pretty safe in an accident. when my mrs passes her test i wouldnt let her drive anything less than a bmw mini for her first car!

Bish bash bosh, perfect.

Or even better for an extra bit of poke, and non-digital dials.
