Id be having it HPI checked first.

What sort of mileage should the cambelt be done at and is there any common things that I should look for?

Cambelt is 100k on most Fords.

I'd take it steady driving home

Thats cheap seeing as it has the Recaro seats, shame it hasnt got Xenons
Shame its a 5 door though.

My mate just got rid of his, worst car he has ever had, had it about 4 months but went back to the dealer 7 times with problems, mainly the same problem with the Cat and Exhaust sensors, these were replaced with brand new parts twice and that still didnt fix it. Also some box to do with the variable valve timing went so that had to be replaced at a cost of about £1400 (warranty) which included replacing the whole inlet system.

His had only done 60,000 full main dealer history, local car, very clean.

Wouldnt touch one myself now though

I had one, anyone who says there slow obviously hasn't driven one and is umping on the bandwagon.. They need revved but they go pretty well.

I sold mine for 2700 with new RS7 spokes and 110k on it.. watch for rust because mine was bad in some strange places.. lol

Well we got it down to £2850 which i think is very good. You do have to rev it a bit to get it going but handles very well. Was a tad faster than the a3 which isn't surprising.

Anyway I can check to see if the cambelt has been done recently? No mention of it in the service book unfortunately.

Nice to drive, but slow. Could a dealer not tell you off the chassis number? Might as well change it if you don't know for sure.

When I looked at it in the ad the other day it looked good. Best colour too

Too many doors like your other one though although it doesnt really effect the shape/lines of this one

Not really, the belt cover is a mission to get off.. Best changing the belt and tensioner just to be safe.. Couple hours to do it and about 30.40 for the kit.

Heres mine when I had it, 2 less doors but same colour..
