morning,

i am looking to buy a set of 16'' vauxhall astra sxi alloys off a freind of mine for my corsa b...the tyres are 205/ 50/16 and the offset is obviously ET49.

am i going to have any problems with these?

thanks

neil

p.s do you reckon a 40mmm drop will be ok?

yeah you mite haev problems with scoobing when its dropped, you should go for 205/45/16 or 205/40/16 if your thinking about dropping it. 40mm drop sounds good if the profile is lower

not all vaux alloys are et49.if u go to vaux they normally have a chart on the wall with all the alloys that they do and all the offsets are on there most are between 40 and 49 mm

thats weird i thought all vaux alloys were et49?
oh well...i know for sure now that these wheels are 49mm offset so thats not going to be a problem.
i realise the 50 profile tyre is bigger then usual 16'' alloy tyres but ill just have to see how it goes...16'' tyres with 45 profile are well expensive! about 100 each for yoko's!!!

205/50/16's are too big, you will have problems with scrapping. You need either 195/45/16's or 205/40/16's. If you buy them from him make sure you buy them real cheap so you have money left to buy new tyres. The tyres will cost you around £200 don't forget.

Listen......

I have astra mk4 rims. They ARE et49. Lowered 40mm at front with 205/50 rims they rim when cornering. No debate.

If your car is not lowered you will not have a prob.

You really need to change at least the front tyres to 195/45.

no they aint.

if u look thru the alloys / accessories brochure u'll find the offset ranges from about 37 - 49 mm depending on the sixe of wheel and the model of car.

Wrong, perfect offset for ALL Vauxhalls is ET49. On there website they have alloys for sale, some are ET40-45, and underneath it says, some arch modifications may be neccesary.

nice one mate! I bet it looks preety sweet with them wheels on. R kid has an astra sxi with the standard 16" rims. I might stick one on and see if they look better than my spiders.
