I need some bad boy brows, I've asked several professional wielders and they won't do it, they said they'll cock it up and it won't look good.

So instead of buying one, can I filler one?
I was just watching this video on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16Qg94okLEs

has anyone done this and how did you make it stick? cheers

That will have been welded on then filler over the ground down welds to make it smooth.
Filler alone would never last, Even fibreglassed on it'd crack straight away.
Needs to be welded on then use a light skim of filler, The more filler used the higher chance of cracking.

You can see that it is welded in that video.

The welding doesn't have to be perfect and it ideally will be ground down and filled.

I think Torsa G on here can do them, might be wrong though.

how much does the steel cost? and what tool do you use to 'sand' down the steel once you have wielded?

He did one for Sean B and it cracked so I wouldnt get it done by him to be honest.

Any decent bodyshop will be able to do you one Does need to be welded though otherwise it will just crack as soon as you close the bonnet.

Anyway you sand it by hand ya lazy shits.

And price of metal, well I bought a 2ftx2ft piece of mild steel 2mm sheet for £6 from a motorfactors so metal wont cost much at all.

yer, i want to do mine myself because...well, anybody can buy parts and pay people to put them on for them, that's just lazy.

Besides you learn quite a lot doing things like this

I'll price up the metal from some places then, steel right? Will 2ft x 2ft be enough to do both eyes? cheers

what do you mean it didn't have the proper curve?

You need a curve one side to follow shape of bonnet and a straight line the other side.

I've been thinking, how to measure the steel against the bonnet. Do you place the steel over the bonnet so it's makes the brow, then open the bonnet and draw the line from underneath? or vice versa Cheers

do the template with a thin piece of card. open your bonnet, place the card so it covers the light and will tuck under your bonnet and draw around that and just use a straight edge to go corner to corner on the bonnet then use the template and cut it out of the steel
