the 318 needs to go, so im m.o.t ing it and getting shut, too much for what i want, high tax/insurance, thirsty - dont get me wrong nice motors but need something cheaper to run

need ideas for the next runabout so its gotta be

Economical
pref in the lower tax bracket but not essential
reliable
low insurance

i dont want an absolute shitter, something nice to keep tidy and stick a couple of subtle mods on. Budged depends on how much i save up but im gonna say around 2k

yeah, quite fancy a vw actually just having a look on trader now!

cant be a 5 door hatch, 3dr hatch or 5 door saloon. i dont do 5dr hatches

passat can look quite pimping too

edit - bora too ugly, passats nicer

think im swaying towards the idea of a high miler golf/passat tdi to munch miles away.

It'll just go wrong and be very expensive.

My idea of a cheap runabout is a 106 1.5D or a Corsa TD
