I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

I'm an aircraft electrician. I fix any electrical snags on the aircraft during flight testing and dispatch to the customer.
This is that front fuse from the first post on it's way to Saudi last week
The Bugattis were to do with the top gear thing. Just found them when looking through the gallery on the work pc.

How do you get into jobs like that?
edit: Never mind, found a list of trainee jobs. Only pays £9.5k while training though

It does indeed, I'm on about £40k with overtime. I do work nights though.

I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. It says RAF on it as the MOD sold 24 of it's Typhoons to Saudi. They are in a contract with BAe to buy all the contracted aircraft, or pay for them anyway, so the RAF sold 24 of their tranche 2 jets to the Saudis and the Saudis then buy another 72 from BAe.
It is a load of political bollocks tbh.

I doubt you would get a job on planes here tbh. The main criteria is aircraft experience as the work is a whole lot different to normal electrics. I was in the RAF for 7 years as an avionics technician so basically walked into this job.
Starting pay is £26k, then 33% shift allowance plus if you work the friday night as overtime (we work a 4 day week) then thats time and a third plus another third so time and 8 tenths.
Put in an application anyway and see what happens. If they are desperate for leccys they may take you on and give you some training.
