I've got a 1.8t 20v x reg Golf which started vibrating really bad today, pulled in check all my wheel nuts. wheels are tight, got it home slowly. jacked it up on one side, accelerated slightly wheel would turn a bit then stop, turn a bit then stop, turn a bit then stop. All I could smell was clutch. other than the vibration the car drives fine, no clutch slip, goes into gear fine.

now when accelerating the car vibrates extremely bad, dip clutch and its fine.

anyone know whats wrong with it?

fucked drive shaft?
fucked clutch? (bearing in mind there is no slip at all)
