So, a friend of mine asked me to help him out, as he has ordered an iPhone for his wife, but it wont be with him until a few days later than when he needs to give it.

So I grabbed trusty Illustrator and an industrial laser cutter and drew and produced an iPhone in 5mm dusted acrylic.

Acrylic iPhone

Pretty happy with the result. Made an extra for myself, but am yet to discover of what use it can be...

Nice effort, and good of you to help a mate out.

But can't help thinking his other half will be disappointed when she gets an iPhone shaped piece of plastic for her birthday

I actually offered him the box my iPhone came in, for him to wrap the model in. He didn't expect that to go down too well and settled on a solution with which he might reclaim his side of the bed within a shorter period.

if he engraved it with some message/anme on one side it could have been good, maybe boxed with a little note saying the real deals in the post.
