i fitted 2.0l front brakes recently and even though i've blead the whole system the pedal is still very sponge and a few people have said its normal but is there a way to get rid of it and make it firm like before?

can you fit a cav master cyclinder to a corsa b?

I went the v6 set up route and had the same trouble, you just have to bleed them good and fit goodridge hoses etc that will help, bleed them correct all wheels and you should find them ok, mine passed mot ok and now I am use to them and they do stop great if they have to and thats on standard master, so your 2.0 ones should be ok,make sure the bleed nipples are at the top of each caliper and buy a eazey bleed kit etc to bleed them correct.

and there deff blead right, so a cav master cyclinder won't fit? as that would make everythink easier wouldn't it?

As far as I know there is no easy substitute for the standard master, I don,t think you can fit a cav one that would be to easy and everyone would be doing it, think there was some talk of a mondeo one but never bothered myself, maybe try a new standard master cylinder as yours might be weak poor seals maybe . other than that its custom set up and money and work.

Shouldn't be spongey with 2.0 brakes at all. They're the same size as 1.6 brakes just thicker.

Had 2.0 brakes on mates XE Corsa. Pedal was superb.

I'd get it pressure bled or get new hoses as they may be and not as tort. Or get braided lines.

I looked into the Mondeo master cylinder setup. I bought the MC from a 1997 2.0 16V mondeo and had some fittings made up but never fitted it as my V6 brakes are fine on the standard 22mm Corsa MC.

If you go down the route of Mondeo cyliner (25mm) you need to extend the brake pedal bar to fir the Mondeo MC, Then you need to remote feed the brake system as the Mondeo brake fluid pot would be vertical when fitted to the Corsa.

I was going to use a Cav brake fluid pot fitted to a bracket on the firewall then run 2 lengths of pipe to the inlet/outlet.

i don't get why mine is soft though from the sounds of it, they should be a tight pedal which it was with the 1.4 sport brakes it was right at the top

Do you have ABS? Have you bled all 4 wheels?
How much brake fluid have you used to bleed them with?
I had to use 250ml of brake fluid when bleeding my mates Impreza brakes. I had to remove the 4 pot calipers to vice up 1 piston in each caliper as they'd seized. On refitting they need a load of bleeding.

Is fluid getting out of the nipple?
You should be bleeding all four corners to ensure there is no air in the system at all.

no fluid is coming out of it so it is sealed and i clamped the pipe work while i changed the calipers over

edit - i will get the drivers side rear brake fixed so i can bleed and hopefully it should fix it

Yes you clamped the brake lines but what about the air inside the calipers? You'll need to bleed them quite a bit to get the right feel.
How much fluid have you bled through?

I used about 300ml of fluid on an impreza that the calipers had been off for 2 mins. Hoses were clamped too.
