I somehow got my computer infected with some crazy virus that's being a right pain to remove (john I think I got it from visting ipmart!)
I think I may give up and just reformat, I haven't reformatted for a while but was wondering about going with windows 7 instead of XP, what's the latest status of this now? Can it be obtained and run fine?

Unless you downloaded something dodgy (which I doubt because it would be spotted straight away) you didn't get it from ipmart.
I've been using it for ages with absolutely no anti anything and i've never got avirus.
Windows 7 is good, you can get it at the usual torrent shops.
You can even buy it fairly cheap in the UK.

I'm fairly good with not going on dodgy websites or downlaoding anything. I went on it a couple of days ago and as soon as it loaded the I got a Java error and an adobe error and it all went downhill from there so no idea what happened. If I got windows 7 now am I likely to need to reformat or reinstall at any point or is there working versions with all the updates etc working fine?
