Have the BB package that is Connect, so its basically Sky selling me broadband through BT equipment. Have Sky phoneline. Im getting 1.17mbps according to Speedtest, on youtube im struggling to watch more than 10 seconds of video continously. Is it something I should report to Sky or give it a week or so? Its been like it for a little while now, and I know what they will say as soon as I ring up - it is offered as an 'up to' 8mb connection.
I dont download anything really, I listen to the radio online, play on XBL, watch a bit of Iplayer and thats about it

Do you have the skybox plugged into the phone line? If so, take that out and plug the internet directly into the socket, and re-do the test.
Mine was slowing down my internet, so took it out, and viola, works fine again now. Was 2mb instead of 8!

Ive just checked on samknows, it appears every road around me has speeds up to 4.5mbps, yet my place is up to 2mbps, even places further away from the exchange than me

They could have used some cheap cable at your bit or the cable could take a different route than the streets around you, it's not just distance.

Ah ok, mine is a new development sitting inside an estate of older houses, so yea they have probably skimped on the cable Just rebooted the router and its connected at 2600 downstream now, will have to do, might have to look at going for one of the very few LLUs in the area then when the contract is up
