I bought this 1.6 sport which has been standing for a month.
Engine seems fine its got the power and pick up it should have and drove 150+ miles on the weekend.
BUT.. theres a strange noise coming from around the alternator/inlet manifold. It sounds like somthings lose or when a bearings knackerd.
I dont have any tools untill the weekwnd so I cant investigate, anyone got any ideas what It may or might be?

I wouldn't drive it incase the sound is coming from the timing belt area.
The tensioners are prone to failing on these so id get the cover off and inspect that area first.

Im not risking it tbh mate I havnt driven it since I got it home.
The noise isnt coming from that area its more around the inlet.
I thought it was a bearing in the alternator gone, but it seems to be holding battery I dont know if it would still function properly with a dodgy bearing?

id check all the bolts on the alnernator, i had a wierd sound coming from by my alternator when i had my ibiza turned out when i changed the alternator i thightend the alternator tentioner bolt but not the 1 underneath, and the bolt vibrated like mad and made a wierd noise
