This is a copy of the thread i posted on 28 days later forum of our 1st attempt at underground exploring.

RIght... got some friends together late thursday for exploring whats called the detached bastion in Dover.

One word.. awesome! ITs the first time i'd been in anything like it.... It was a bit of a trek/climb/jump/drop to get around to the opening in the side of the building. Absolutely huge inside and resonable good condition. There is loads of graffiti but to be expected as i'd imagine its fairly easy to find/get in during the day... we went about 10pm and it was pitch black!

Anyone we walked around and took loads of pics... managed to get outside via one of the small drawbridges but there must be other entrances as there are so many other sections but we couldnt find an opening.

On the way back to where we park i climbed up to the main drawbrige which has been blocked from the inside via huge grate. You can climb over it which is do-able if you good at climbing but we had a few in the group who weren't so i went up and got to take a pic of the winch behind the draw bridge.

We also looked at the Drop redoubt moat which was cool.

I think the best/scariest bit was when we all turned our lights off and just stod in the pitch black... its proper proper dark! lol

Anyway... pic times.

Nice view of dover

Dreaming i think!

entrance/exit

The winch behind the blocked up main drawbridge... accesable if you good at climbing!
