just been lookin for ideas on new engine
would a 1.6 16v work with BOTH turbo and tb's

It'll work with a supercharger as well, providing you throw enough cash at it.

super turbo chraged 16xe with Tb's.... sounds crazy but if anyone does taht - they have more money than sense

How come you want to stick with smallblocks?

If i was doing it again id just hunt after big power straight away redtop on tbs or c20let....

If you dont want a big block then either would be good, id probably go with the 1.8 on tbs like warrens.

If your spending big money like that, why not get a V6 and supercharge it. 350bhp iirc.

PS nissan pulsars run a 2.0 turbo with itb's as standard.

ITB is Independant Throttle Body. Meaning 1 throttle body per cylinder.

Theres nothing 'different' about a smallblock. The come fitted as standard to most small vauxhalls and the corsa VXR comes from the factory with a 1.6 turbo... so essentially your not being different at all.

Ive not seen one vauxhall on here with a supercharged V6 under its bonnet... infact ive never seen it done at all, so that would be something very unique to undertake.

is it going in a corsa or the astra in your pic? just if going in the astra id go c20xe, the lilttle 1.6 will be getting a hammering with all the extra weight especially if done properly the rev it will see too. if me id go turbo and use the torque to your advantage if in the astra AND want to keep it 1.6.

btw i would like to see how a charged v6 would fit in a corsa and look fairly normal nice idea though
