Is it not just a case of getting a sandwich plate with an outlet in between the oil filter and its mounting? Then just a case of running a bit of hose from it to the gauge in the cabin I thought.

There's plenty of room around the oil filter iirc so I can't see it being a problem mate.

depend ifs a mechanical or electric gauge.

If its electric just buy a T piece and put it in where the standard sensor is

Even if it was electrical you could still use a mechanical one in the way stated I'd think.

It's simple.
On the back of the XE are 2 spare M14 holes which you can fit the pressure sender. Alternatively a T piece can be used as suggested.

Take a look here

I'd say a sandwich plate is the easiest option with the engine in situ. I wouldn't fancy messing about with plugs that haven't been unscrewed in 15 years.

easiest option would be to buy a genuine vauxhall pressure sender which goes in place of the standard switch and has the take off to plug the warning light in and has a take off for the gauge as well
