Got my M.O.T next week on my 1st car!!!

I am changing my break shoes tomorrow..

front light needs changing.. back wind screen wiper needs changing...


ant tips for first M.O.T?

check all lights are working and tyres are in good condition and make sure its clean
inside and out

deffo make sure it's clean, i failed an mot once for having dirt on my car :/

Take wiper arm and motor of completely and put a rubber grommet there. Cheaper and lighter then

My mechanic taught me to go over and clean all of the brakes, suspension, brake cables etc, so it looks like you've already made an effort to check it over. Less likely to fail on something then!

I don't think they will pass a car based on the fact that it 'looks like you have already had a quick look'

It will pass if it meets the required standard.


I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

yeah wtf, its passed by meeting requirments. has nothing to do with someone wiping a brake pipe.

sorry was on my phone. . . just somebody said it would fail on headlight aim . . . just didnt see why?

Headlight aim is a common fail with a Corsa.

Don't forget to check all your bulbs and fluids before the test.

If your brake fluid is below minimum it will fail.

check rear springs if standard, front chassis legs for corrosion and the b pillars. if they are cracked more than 10 mm its a fail
