Whats this for?
And does it relate to the oil guage from the Calibra?
Also, for the oil pressure light (I think) On the Digital Dash, Do i need any specific fitting etc?
I have a Digital Dash to fit, and the single green / Blue Cable (I think) that runs with the start and charge loom, just not sure how it all fits together and works etc..
Cheers

Ah fair play, might be right there...
Think i'm gonna have to figure this lot out somewhat.. I've got a couple of spare blue wires with red trace spare from the XE Loom end, so thats them obviously?
Whats the Guage in the calibra actually do then, obviously one is Volts and the other oil one?..
Is that oil level, from the sump?
Cheers mate

yeh! there will only be one wire from the oil presure gage, best thing todo if your not sure is disconnect the plug from the sender, and use a a volt gauge on ressistance, put in one end of the wire and prod the other wires untill it bleeps

Ah right sounds good
Where does the level sensor plug to then?
Is it to the oil guage on the calibra, I have the guage and am not sure entirely what its for.. lol

The oil level plugs into the car loom so the trip computer can read the level and flash a warning if level is low. As the Corsa doesn't have a trip computer it doesn't have the relevant plug.
Do as I did and cut it off, Weight saving

If the Astra GTE had the low oil warning on the digi dash then yes you could wire it into the Corsa, Although I find the dipstick a simpler way to check and more accurate
You'll either need to cut the plug off another model or cut the plug off the sump sender and use connectors/mulit plug or solder the wires up.
How it wires to the digi dash I wouldn't know.

Ah fair enough then...
lol
I'm still confused as to what the guage i've just bought from a calibra actually does...
Volt guage is self explanatory obviously lol..

Ah you've bought the Cally double gauge?
Volt meter and oil pressure bud. You'll need the dual sender from a Calibra or Astra GTE to replace your single sender.

Ah right, I get it...
Votl meter is easy, and I need the oil pressure sensor... so thats the one by the oil filter I take it...?
And that wires straight up to the guage?
Also, could i then run a wire from the guage, up to the speedo, for the warning light? - Obviously usually the oil light would come on be there a problem with oil pressure?
But with the guage, that wouldn't happen, or is that wrong?
Sorry for the questions lol

Yup the sender is by the oil filter. Did you get the 4 pin plug with the gauge? You'll need it to wire up the gauge.
I don't get why you'd want to run a wire from the gauge to your dash?
The dual sender has 2 pins, One for the warning light and one for the pressure gauge.
The oil level can only be wired to the sender in the sump.

Oh i get you...
So one wire goes from the Sensor to the Speedo, another to the Guage...
I think so, there's wire and stuff with them, so i'm assuming thats there.. lol
And then the oil level sensor would need to be in the sump (Replaced as mine's been cut), and ran direct to the speedo, for the oil level - Obviously assuming my Digital Dash has that - I'm not sure how the Digital Dash displays yet, not sure what it displayed...
Cheers bud

I have no idea if the mk2 had a trip computer or warnings for oil level etc.
My mk3 Astra did. Is there not enough wire left to solder new wire to the level sender? I personally wouldn't replace the sender as the XE sump is a pig for leaking anyway.

Nah there's not enough wire there..
Well i was thinking of getting me an oil cooler soon anyway, so what i'd do is do a new sump gasket and sensor at the same time as the oil cooler anyway...

You know you don't have to touch the sump to fit an oil cooler right?
Tbh it'd be easier to buy a sump that someone hasn't cut the wire from.

Might be an idea though, I'll look into that

Is your sump leaking at all?
If not just fit the cooler and do an oil and filter change. When fitting the sandwich plate you'll lose minimal oil.

Ah that sounds good.
Pretty sure its lieaking a little, haven't thoroughly looked - The gearbox does too lol, got a new gasket kit for that but one bolt seems always loose like the thread is stripped

Gasket kit for what, The sump or gearbox?
Which bolthole feels loose? I had one loose on the oil pump end where the sump bolts too. I got it heli coiled and all is good now.
Best thing for using on the sump gasket is wellseal

Gearbox gaskets mate..
And a bolt on the lower gearbox plate at the front...
So if i got some wellseal, would that do the job on the gearbox with the new gasket too? - Because the bolts dodgy i wouldn't mind sealing it a little...
Cheers

tbh I wouldn't use anything on the gearbox gasket. I've always left them dry.

Right - Got the new Sensor for by the oil filter...
Got my Calibra guages - Can't for the life of me figure out what wire's what on them though.. Any suggestions?
So what wires do i connect from the Sensor once fitted, and to where?
Obviously there's a wire already there, which goes to the speedo clocks via the old plug from the bay on the 1.2 16v model...
Whats the other one for / Which is which? - I'm assuming it goes into the car and to the guage, but which wire on the guages?
Confused.. lol
