Just bought a 98' Xsara VTR, it has the standard built in head unit with a 6 disc cd changer in the boot, just wondered if i replaced the head unit would i still be able to use the controls on the steering wheel, and the 6 disc changer? Cheers!

You have to buy an adaptor kit to be able to use the steering wheel controls (usually about £35)...and I would be very surprised if the cd changer could be mde to work. The only possibility is if the changer is a branded one and you buy the same brand head-unit with a changer control (still might not work tho)

Same as above imo. Although do you really need to change the headunit if you want to keep the functionality of all the others bits? Makes it less desirable to thieves if you leave it OEM!

I've just tried the 6 disc changer and it was covered in water, im guessing condensation and doesn't work. Im either going to have to find another one or buy a cd player, should any changer fit?
