11k to spend, car can be no more than 6 months old and no higher than grp 14 insurance. What would you get?

have thought about that actually. maybe a bit old now though. Would rather a 206GTi, found a place doing them for 11.5k brand new. Already have a 206 aswell, so know what they're like.

if you r willing to go up to group 16 then, for 11,000 you can get a Seat Leon 1.8 20v or a Golf Mk4 20v Turbo for about 9 grand!! but will be older than 6 months!!!

106gti aint old.. phase 2 ones come with whitedials, leather alacantra interior. handle amazing (better than a 206gti, my aunt has one) and are quicker.

I would do but I don't want to pay silly money for insurance. for some reason there seems a huge hike after grp 14!

i can appreciate the handling is better, but the performance of the two is not far off (106 a little quicker) and 206 has the leather alacantra etc, plus I think i prefer the look. would get the 206 with the factory sp kit, the mesh grille and leave it at that.

fairplay.... insurance though is group 12 on the 106.... you not reckon 106gti looks better than a 206?

like the mimi but you can't get a decent one for 11k. they are still selling for more then list price, used cooper s are going for 20k +!

i love the look of both, but i think its just because the 106 has been around a while. thats what gives the 206 a looks advantage.
