Basically i've done alot of sprayin on the inside of my car using halfords cans.....which i find great and very easy to use. the question i have is this:

I'm using a metallic paint. I've never properly read the instructions on the can, yet i've got great results. Basically once i've done my metallic base coat, i've left it to dry then sprayed laquer directly on top. This has lead to a really shiney and tough result.

however on readin the can, it says i shud go over the basecoat with 1200 wet/dry once its dry, to get a matt finish?? I thought this seemed odd and wanted to know.........will the laquer definately bring the matt finish to gloss again? I dont wanna rub the base coat down and ruin what i've done coz i've run out of base coat now!

cheers in advance.....any help greately appreciated.....!

U can use a rubbing compound on the paint work, just make sure u have left it to harden first, it should look flat/matt and then the laquer will make it shine again...........
