Since engine change (x16xe) my fan only comes on first thing ion morning or if i have left it for quite few hours in cold weather!
So everytime i start my car fan comes on,until car warms up then it goes off!
I was told to try new rad switch which I fitted today, and same thing is happening!
Any ideas?

I thought that, but couldn't figure out why It would be thermostat, that just opens and closes rad?

no there is also an electric one that is threaded into the radiator and that switches the fan on or off
ive just cut the wires and joined them together so the fan comes on with the ignition

Ah, so worth buying a new rad altogether? If there is a thermostat inside the actual rad

No you dont have to replace the whole radiator, the fan switch is at the bottom of the radiator on the left, if you have aircon then you will have 2 of them. They just simply unscrew so you can easily replace them.

Without trying to make you sound like an idiot, you have actually seen the fan spinning haven't you?
You're not just hearing the SAI running which may be mistaken for a fan?

That's not really a good idea as your car won't run at optimum temperature.
