Hi guys im considering getting a 1.6 sport very soon i know that with SBD & jenvey throttle bodies they can work a treat but are there other options availble? i.e turbocharging? Im also going to fully strip the car out too so would a throttle bodied 1.6 be up to the job?
Sorry for the essay of questions

Anyway abit about me im Lee 23 yr old from stoke on trent had vauxhall's since i passed my test. Bar a stint in a subaru impreza for a while First car was a 1.4 corsa in flame red (or pink) lol
Then a 1.8 ls vectra dont ask why lol was relaible though

I had a vectra gsi which i loved to bits should of let it go

Where abouts in stoke on trent?

Local to me.

Quite a few different ways about getting power to be honest, if done properly good strong engines.

I have 1.6 think there pretty good at tuning just all about time and money really. got some dblias throttle bodies with software so should see a nice difference when i get them fitted ... most redtops , lets have been ragged so would more or less need to rebuild them anyway. but its totally upto u

The 1.6 is most certainly up to the job! Even without spending stupid money on it! Strap some bodies and a decent mapped management system onto it and you will see 160bhp if not a little more...before you even think about cams or pocketed pistons rods ect.

What's the budget and ideal power? 9/10 I'd go down the XE route tbh.

Didn't your one make under 150bhp with just that? So where would the extra 10bhp come from? You'd also have less torque than an XE. Which makes me laugh at your sig. If it happened to be an XE instead of a turbo, the outcome would be different

The when is a big'un. But tbh, if it's taken care of, should be as reliable as any car. I've only had an alternator fault with mine in the past couple of months that it's been a daily driver, with the odd spanking!
