Right ........... never had a real one before, i have bought one with a water feeding stand. How long do they tend to last if they remain well watered?

Can get needle-less furns, which is what the parents get when they can be arsed. And as said, they seem to last for a fair few weeks, our last one was still live and kicking for over a month until it was burned in a bonfire

Boy at the horses sells them, he said they will be a fortune this year due to the weather ect and them not growing great.

Well if it's got no roots, it wont matter if it has water or not, as it's got no way of getting the water, it'll just sit there and rot

A plant does not have to have roots to get water, the roots are soaking up water just like the trunk would hence you can take an offcut of a plant and grow it elsewhere. so really it won't rot!

if its a decent one (cant remember name/type we had last year) it will last for months! Our was still a big hairy bastard in the back garden till Feb! 7ft high, 5ft wide

Not all trees do that though, i know some do because we've done it in work. Depends what tree it is, williow and the likes will but not all trees and cuttings...

i have a fake tree but i just fancied a real one this year , the tree we bought appears to have a long life one or something so see how we go
