i'm sorry, but it's under your bonnet, how can having anything attached be chav-tastic? if you want socks, get them, if you want mini filters, use them. :/

people don't see it.

check out a citreon Xsara WRC under bonnet (from about 2004) ..... The have solid ducting flatened out against the underside of the bonnet, with a ram / scoop type grill... the ducting on the underside of the bonnet feeds an airbox

There is also space (or should be) with a C20XE done the pas side of the engine. Remember things like the expansion tank can be jiggled around. Should be able to get a good 100mm hose through.

I still dont get where you are coming from though.

I think bonnet vents are a bit naf... esp Impreza style scoops on a small hatch.

In my opinion a morrete with 1 lens missing is much more discrete.

Run ducting (fixed) from missing lens to a sealed air box (like in the pic i provided). This will provide a much better air flow DIRECT to the individual inlets

The best thing about having a bonnet vent over your air filter is when it rains you end up getting water in your trumpets and a soaking wet filter. You could probably get away with that sort of thing on TB's for a bit, but carbs wont have any of it. Not to mention the other things that don't like getting wet (spark plugs, HT's e.t.c...)

protec kit corsa has a similar set up. Just looking for pics now.

Fairly expensive to get from protec but could be copied and diy'd with a little thought.
