Hi all, ive started fitting my spax coilovers, done the rears fine, ive now done the fronts, however i cant seem to get the top mount nut on... ive made sure that the damping rod is as far out as it goes, put the car on the ground so that its taking the weight of the car but it looks like the thread part wont even go through. Ive followed the spax manual and still no joy, but my mate did take these 2 bits out frm the top mount?
Not sure if these are supposed to stay on with the top mount or not?
And here is what it looks like...
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks Adam

Will give it a bash tomorrow. I didnt think the spring height had nothing to do with where the damper itself sat. But will give it a go.
Thanks

The whole top mount should be assembled off the car then just offer it into the turret and scew on the two 13mm nuts.

I done that Sean, removed the original strut with top mount, came back to check the spax manual and fitted all the top mount parts (which were said in the manual) to the coilovers.
Im going to give it another go tomorrow, removing and refitting, aslong as i got all the parts correct i dont see why it wont go, im sure i'll get there in the end.
Thanks Adam

you should fit the top nut whilst they are off the car aswell. The car cetainly shouldn't be on the ground with load on the damper.
