you really should carry a wheel brace, a jack and have a spare tyre that you can actually get to
its safe to say i didnt have any of the above and got a flat tyre in the snow i have had to leave my car outside the medical centre and phone my mum to pick me and the kids up to take us home i thought 4x4's was ment to be able to cope with the snow or is it just my mums driving the fact that we crabbed all the way home?

4x4s aren't immune to the snow, especially on road tyres. It probably was partly her driving though.

how far could i have safely traveled on a flat tyre?
i wasnt going to risk it either way because the roads was covered in snow and the car was bouncing all over the place and i didnt have much steering as it was the front drivers tyre

Given that it's not safe; no where.

i think mine has just gone flat because the car hasnt been used much and hasnt moved at all for a week, my nan came out with, iv got some stuff at home what you spray in your tyre to blow it up, 1. i would not spray foam in my tyre to blow it up because then my tyre is fucked and 2 she cant drive and the only other person it could have belonged to is my grandad and he had been dead 8.5 years

Drove mine when it was flat the other day. Managed to get the tyre fixed and it didnt fuck the tyre or alloy up.

What 4x4 has your mum got?
Just take it steady or get Kwick Fit to come out to you.

Unless you have a fully stripped track slag i don't really understand why you wouldn't have all the above tbh As well as a small toolkit and extra oil etc.
Velcro a box under your seat with everything in and dont worry about getting caught short + make sure you have a spare tire

Most 4x4's are RWD unless 4WDis engaged.

I've always got these in my boot, and they are easy to get at. As mike said, not sure why you haven't got them. Also in this weather, ideal to carry a warm coat if you ever break down.

my vauxhall wheel brace was rounded off and fucked so i bought an extendable one but my fella knicked the socket off it last week and i used my jack on my sisters car and it never got put back in my car, my fella and his mate went and changed the wheel and fetched it home this morning for me, the inside tyre wall was split half way around the tyre so another tip, dont drive on flat tyres, just cost me ÂŁ43 to have a new tyre fitted as i didnt fancy driving on the stealy for long with that being a 14" and the alloys are 15"
