Hi all,

1997 corsa B petrol gauge seems to be stuck on 3/4 of a tank. Goes down when ignition is off and I even filled up to the top this evening though it persists on being 3/4.

Anyone know any common cures for this?

Cheers,
Steve

if hitting it dont help it could be a dodgy sender or a broken wire.

like that will help

remove the plug on the back of the fuel unit under the rear seat

put 12v across two wires (not blue/red wire) might have to undo the tank cover to see which ones

the gauge should go off the scale, if so, you need a new fuel tank sender unit

you should also beable to move the level sender up and down to see the gauge move on the instruments if working correctly

If you put 12v across it make sure you dont make a spark over the top of the open fuel tank in the fuel vapour or they will be picking bits of swill out of the roof lining.
