Got a telephone interview on Friday for 1st line support in I.T, the agency is arranging it with the company to call me on Friday at half 11. I'm being made redundant this month, due to leave work this next week which i have known for about 3months. I've never had a telephone interview before so not sure what to expect, i've searched on google read up on a few sites but was wondering if any of you lot have had them, and what to expect and what to prepare for.

Cheers

Just like a normal interview but you can do it in your pants!

Prepare a sheet of questions you want to ask etc just like a normal interview.

Although this may just be to test your phone manner and technical knowledge

It will just be to confirm that you aren't infact a complete moron who has lied on their CV and actually have a rough idea of what you are doing.

Most last between 20-30 mins and it will consist of probably fairly basic technical questions.

So the role there asking for is completey different to this, obviously my CV states this but there still wanting a telephone interview. Going to prepare a sheet of paper with any questions i want to ask and usefull info.

I had a telephone interview once for an insurance firm. Made me sell them a holiday over the phone

Sold them the best holiday ever that I'd found on Teletext and still didn't get a second interview

probably be competency based so will be

tell me a time when, and you will have to give them in depth examples of situations you have been in

helps if you can think and lie quickly on the spot
