What about that chippy sauce that they only seem to do in certain parts of scotland, edinburgh and glasgow i've seen do it.
possible what eck is referring to as broon sauce its a special chip shop secret recipe.
(brown sauce and vinegar)
dont really get that any where else or the bloody deep fried and battered pizza's

Salt then vinegar.
Am more than happy with just vineger though. Not a massive fan of salt.

broon sauce, Queens english: Brown sauce.
TBH sometimes you have to ask for brown sauce in Glasgow because they immediatly think when you say sauce they think tomato. Certainly anywhere in Fife if you ask for ''awhing'' (everything) they give you salt, vinegar and broon sauce.

Yep. Except in Leven at the Shoreheed where you have to say Awhing n broon cheers.
Ian, you can actually buy that sauce, it's gold star or something. I'll find out and let you know. But you're right, it's got a punch to it that normal broon doesn't. Oh, and I stay about 10 minutes from St Andrews
