im looking to put a gsi engine into a 1.4 s16v sport do any1 know wat parts i would need

engine, ecu, loom, if its a c16xe

engine, ecu, loom, transpoder and chip if its a x16xe

Iv got an x16xe block and head for sale if your interested.

wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to sell the 1.4 and buy a gsi or 1.6 sport?

not in my case m8 ive hada bump on my zetec s so having to sell and ive gota corsa sport just wanted a little list to have look at if i go ahead with engine

you can pick a 16xe up for 150 so unless you can find a sport or gsi for that mmuch its will be cheaper to change engine

buy a x16xe engine from a later car, not quite same power as gsi engine only 3bhp i belive but its a straight swap and you will just need ecu and transponder

engine perhaps? £300 ad will need cambelt etc really, drive shafts, engine mounts soon starts adding up

Depends what engine you go for. You can get an XE that is pretty tired for about £200-£300 and aye, I'd recommend getting that rebuilt before putting it in. Mounts only cost £90 and driveshafts £70. Then you just need the CV's. I'd recommend a short shifter linkage as well.

Converstionmounts.co.uk have them mate but the site appears to be down. You need to get the right ones though as there is two! Since you have a Sport you need Type 2 mounts
