much is a typical price for a Re-spray on a car, ive just bought a Leon Cupra Mk1, onvi yellow and its a tad faded, does it cost less to get it sprayed the same colour, or does that matter? how much is the going rate for a re-spray?

Is it literally just faded? It's quite common on yellow cars - oxidised by the sun / UV rays.

Can normally be rectified with a good machine polish rather than a full respray!

A decent respray will set you back £1500 - £2000 in most cases.

Yup bodyshops can but most (not saying all!) won't finish it properly so it will be covered in buffer trails afterwards. It's usually cheaper via a bodyshop, but not usually best - I do quite a lot of rectification jobs after bodyshops have mopped cars!

I will also ask on another forum I use (not detailing world as that will cost a bomb to use anybody from there lol) if anybody is local to you and if so will pass their details on to you

I had a full colour change respray on my cupra, which cost £1200. That included 4 wheels being refurbed.

I would imagine a blowover for yours would be a lot cheaper.

The boy is in Paisley if you want his number

Ok, JKP Detail - a fellow Dodo Authorised Detailer.

He's about an hour away from you, but is static these days as apparently all your local councils up there have clamped down on waste water regs etc so it's not possible for him to be mobile now.

http://www.jkpdetail.com/

Tell him Rich from Refined Detail sent you - I've already spoken briefly to him
