Back in October last year I asked my manager for a payrise so i'd be on the same ammount as the guy i work with doing the same job. it was a reasonable request so my gaffer agreed that in the new year my rate would go up buy £2 ish an hour. I had no reason to doubt it would happen so i stupidly didn't ask for it in writing. I just found out yesterday that my boss has been demoted and moved to a different department so he isn't in charge of us anymore. I'm hoping he has already done the paperwork for it as we normally get our statutary pay rise in feb and thats when he said i'd get this extra rise.

they haven't even told us who it is. all we know is it's a foreigner from one of our plants we shut down recently.

same happened to me asked for pay rise it was yeye in april when tax re news you'll all be getting a decent payrise next thing i know i was getting made redundant... now im stuck at foooking matalan with p/t job and need a full time job again :/ was doing screen printing
