We had more Argies start last night than Spanish.

In fact, we only really have Reina, Riera and Torres as main first teamers who are spanish.

When he has to shop in the lower price bracket signings are always going to be more risky and more of a hit or miss. He has made some excellent ones, but at the same time made some stinkers, no more than any other manager though.

His expensive £15m+ signings have more than often been good ones.

He has made some good signings yes. You're only a half dozen players, if that, away from having a good team at the moment.

I'd suggest buying some younger players to build up a good squad, but you bought loads in 2006 and none have come through. Apart from Jay Spearing.

We had a couple of seasons where it was Arsenal and then Chelsea then we came back and won the league. So its possible.

Insua? Kelly and Ayala have both made their debuts this year. Ngog. Pacheco and Eccleston have also both made their debuts. Darby too in fact.

Some kids have come in then just been below the level needed so sold for profits.

So really, you have every chance of challenging next season, provided those players that have broken through continue to develop.

Rafa likes to develop players over years to try and prolong their career amongst other things, he's not like wenger in that respect so we are going to need investment in the summer.

I do have high hopes for 2 or 3 players we have on our books though and would hope some of them make it and turn out to be 'liverpool' standard.

Agreed.

I have high hopes that before the end of the season Pacheco will be regarded by the media and other clubs fans as an amazing young prospect.

Yes pacheco is my main hope out of the 'about to step up' group who are warming the bench on ocassion at the minute. He needs to beef up a bit but I expect he will be doing so right now.
